We have been granted a special event callsign to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the Middleburgh Telephone Company this October. Starting with the Fall Festival on 10/8, we have until 10/14 to operate using W2M in celebration of this amazing feat. However, we need operators to get on the air and call “CQ Special Event Station” so that we can get the word out. People will be looking for us!The good news is, you can do this from home using your own equipment (yes, even an HT on 2m/70cm simplex counts). Just be sure to use a logging program to keep track of your contacts (or copy your paper log into an electronic format so that it can be compiled). I’m happy to help you get set up and prepared for the event, just get in touch with me on air, by email, or call/text.

Our information is out there, now we just need to show the world that there will be people operating!

Not sure about HF or want to try operating from a temporary/portable station? Come visit us at the Middleburgh Fall Festival on October 8 from 9am to 3pm. We’ll be on the High School’s front lawn near the Stewart’s side (High School side Entrance) and we’ll have at least one station set up with an antenna attached to the flagpole.
